Continuing Education Renewal Requirements

The Mission of the Eastlake Medical College Learning Education System is to provide and support Certified Nurse Assistant in a learning education platform through continuing education units and advance education in the healthcare community setting. Classes meet CE requirements for the CNA License renewal. Approved by the California Department of Public Health. (NAC #7286)
IN-PERSON CEU / IN- SERVICE CLASSROOM EDUCATION
To get to your CNA CEU Class Schedule, register at CNA CEU PORTAL.
California CNAs must complete 48 total hours of in-service training/CEUs every two years to renew their certification. A maximum of 24 hours may be obtained through a CDPH-approved online provider. The remaining 24 hours must be completed in person, with at least 12 hours completed annually.
Key Requirements:

Total Hours: 48 hours within two years.

Online Limit: Maximum 24 hours via CDPH-approved online computer training.

Annual Requirement: Minimum of 12 hours must be completed each year.

Daily Limit: No more than 12 hours of training per day.
YEAR 1 - (Year you PASS the State Exam): Minimum of 12 CEU's required.
YEAR 2 - (Year of Renewal)
*Only 24 Hours are allowed to be completed through an online training program.
Requirements for CNA CEU CLASS

Valid CNA Certificate in California (CDPH)

Valid ID & SSN

Attend in person registration/orientation

Must have 8 hours of work experience as a CNA for renewal.

CEU certificates must be attached to the CDPH Renewal Application Form for validation.

TO PASS THE CEU, THE CNA MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:
